Tom Hanley Shares New Single ‘Take It Away’

Canadian singer and songwriter Tom Hanley shares his brand new single Take It Away, an upbeat indie-pop gem out now via Golden Gecko Records.

For this song, Tom Hanley teamed up with songwriter and producer, Nixon Boyd (Hollerado, Dizzy), and the result is a very relatable and upbeat piece of music. Take It Away is a song about the rising cost of living in Toronto and in Canada in general, and how tough it is to get a foothold. I don't live in Canada but these are the same struggles most people my age are facing. The song finds the talented artist showcasing how this living crisis has been a major contributing factor to the erosion of Toronto's artistic community and has taken a serious toll on the mental health of young people today. This message is flawlessly conveyed through his passionate vocals which are accompanied by captivating guitar melodies and punchy drums that come together to create an upbeat atmosphere that contrasts the lyrical content.

Speaking about the song, Tom said,
This song makes me want to go out and do something to change how our country is being run. To change the narrative we are telling the next generation. What they should work towards and the path they should take because it’s not leading to the same results that it did even ten years ago.
