Memorial & Lomelda Share New Single ‘Guardian’

Acclaimed alt-folk duo Memorial team up with American singer-songwriter Lomelda to deliver Guardian, the latest single to be taken from their upcoming sophomore studio album, Redsetter, set to arrive through Lucy Rose’s Real Kind Records (Bess Atwell, Samantha Crain) on May 10th.

I am loving the raw emotion and intimate atmosphere of this song which instantly gave me the feels and got me excited to want to share it with you guys. Guardian finds the duo gifting us with one of their most heartfelt guises to date, singing about empathy and forgiveness. This song is packed with vulnerability and those enchanting vocals are such a pleasure to listen to, over and over again. Backing those lush harmonies we have a delicate guitar-based melody which is nicely paired with steady drums and subtle piano keys that come together to create an overall warm, intimate listening experience. This gem is accompanied by a stunning new video, created by artist/animator Beattie Hartley, both Memorial and Lomelda soar across this alluring new swoon, elevating their tender approach to songwriting at every turn.

Speaking about new release, they said,
Guardian is about empathy and forgiveness without losing integrity. Exploring a place of vulnerability within kindness. Choosing forgiveness over bitterness. Acknowledging the stories behind your emotions. It feels like a reminder that it is possible to honour your feelings and remain kind through empathy.

Adding about the video,
The video created by the incredible Beattie Hartley (don't hug me I'm scared) is intended to be a look at life through the eyes of the Inner child. All made by hand and animated by hand it's a beautifully innocent journey into the strong heavy thematic meaning of the song.
