Grace Pettis Shares New Single ‘Horses’

Nashville-based singer and songwriter Grace Pettis shares her brand new single Horses, a warm, intimate ballad taken from her upcoming album, Down To The Letter, out on June 14th via MPress Records.

Horses finds the talented singer singing about how beauty co-exists with vulnerability as she reflects on overcoming adversity. A personal song beautifully delivered through her gorgeous, expressive vocals which exude so much soul and emotion that is enhanced by the delicate production. Apart from her heartfelt delivery, I am particularly fond of the subtle guitar plucks which are nicely paired with emotive piano keys and subtle strings that culminate into a memorable chorus, creating such a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Speaking about the song, Grace Pettis said,
When I was a kid, I had something called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis for several years. It left as mysteriously as it arrived. Once, she embroidered one of my horse drawings on to a pillow. In my drawing, a black unicorn is leaping over a row of clouds, surrounded by shooting stars. Its mane and tail are red and its horn is made out of rainbows. I think of the way that many girls and women long to be like horses both vulnerable and beautiful, and strong and free. And how those things are not mutually exclusive.
