Cameron Leahy Shares New Single ‘Monterey’

Los Angeles-based indie-folk singer and songwriter Cameron Leahy shares his brand new single Monterey, the latest single to be taken from his upcoming album, Dizzy Freedom.

Out now on Owl Campfire, Monterey is a warm, intimate piece of folk music that finds the talented artist looking for escapism, showcasing how some times we get lost in dreams and romanticize places and ideas. A song that encourages listeners to dream as it can be a way of opening our eyes to a different mindset, Monterey pairs Leahy's gorgeous, expressive vocals which soar effortlessly over memorable acoustic guitar riffs which are seamlessly paired with delicate piano keys, together creating an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for those introspective days home alone.

Cameron says on the track,
This isn’t as much about a specific story or place as it is about the allure of stories. The narrator is looking for escapism, romanticizing places (present or past) and ideas. It’s funny to me, our tendency to do that, how fickle we can be. Our dreams hit the wall of reality. But getting lost in dreams is important sometimes. It can open your eyes to an alternate mindset.
