Julia Logan Shares New Single ‘Top of the World’

Swedish singer and songwriter Julia Logan shares her brand new single Top of the World, a gorgeous indie-folk gem out now on Dumont Dumont.

The first single to be taken from her upcoming album, coming later this year, Top of the World finds the talented artist teaming up again with her producer and co-writer Daniel Bengtson (First Aid Kit, M Ward, James Yorkston), and delivering us a song that explores themes of personal fears and changes, isolation, loss, getting older, hope, and finding your place in the world. A very relatable storytelling flawlessly delivered through Julia Logan's rich, expressive vocals that are a pleasure to listen to. Backing her passionate delivery we have steady drum patterns seamlessly intertwined with captivating piano keys that together create an overall warm, somewhat melancholic, atmosphere perfect for an introspective weekend.

Speaking about the song, Julia Logan said,
I wrote Top of the World with my producer Daniel Bengtson in his studio. It came from a conversation we had and a piano melody which grew into a song. The song deals with personal changes and fears, depression, getting older, and navigating societal expectations. We recorded the demo with only piano and a guitar and wanted to keep that sparseness in the final version and not overload it with production. I think we captured the sonic mood we we’re going for — and I think the song is a good introduction to my next chapter for the new album.
