American indie-folk band Cloudbelly, consisting of singer Corey Laitman, guitarist Sam Perry, and drummer, producer Nate Mondschein, share their brand new single Handfuls, a warm, intimate piece of music out now on Strange Library Records. 

 

I am really enjoying Corey Laitman's smooth, enchanting vocals and haunting harmonies which effortlessly infuse a memorable touch of soul and emotion to this captivating indie-folk song. Handfuls is one of Cloudbelly’s darker excursions, cyclical and meditative as it mourns a freshly broken connection, a relatable storytelling that builds from a sparse opening to a lush, percussive climax featuring strings from Cynthia Tolson (MUNA). It's the combination of those intricate finger-picked guitars with lush strings and subtle rhythms that keeps me coming back to this song that exudes raw emotion and touches of melancholia that make it perfect for those cold, rainy days at home.
