MAR Shares New Single ‘Mama I Don't Wanna Play The Blues Anymore’

MAR, the moniker of Canadian born, Croatian raised, London-based indie folk singer-songwriter Marina Elezovic, shares her brand new single Mama I Don't Wanna Play The Blues Anymore, a raw, honest blend of indie-folk and americana.

I am loving MAR's heartfelt vocal delivery wich exudes so much raw emotion and soul, with the subtle raspy touch enhancing those feelings and instantly connecting me to her storytelling. The first single to be taken from her upcoming album, due later this year, Mama I Don't Wanna Play The Blues Anymore shows a very personal and intimate side of her storytelling, with vulnerable lyrics being seamlessly accompanied with subtle electric guitar and slide guitar playing throughout the song. A very subtle, yet powerful arrangement that allows the listeners to truly focus on her voice and storytelling. I am loving the sad, melancholic atmosphere of the song that still has a bright side, letting listeners know they aren't alone in their struggles. Such a memorable listening experience that I think you will love as much as I am. Have a listen to this gem below!

Speaking about the song, MAR said,
As I was going through burn out while I was writing this song, I just wanted to get better and wake up each morning ready and happy to see the sun shining. It is my form of a therapy, and I believe I got better after writing it. I want others to feel the same way while listening to this song, and at least I want the audience to feel less alone in their struggles as there’s always someone out there who is probably going through the similar thing. I wanted to stop loathing myself and stop feeling sorry for myself, as there’s so much more a person could do if they just let themselves go. My way of getting better is writing sad songs, but they do hold a positive thought somewhere beneath all these layers of sadness and melancholy.
