Speaking about the song, HOLYSEA said,
This song is a distillation of grief after losing one of the great loves of my life. And its sentiment is timeless. She and I had two cats, a loving home, and a garden filled with food. A part of me that had never been explored started to tear what we had built apart. Her anxieties and fears wouldn't allow us to explore new territory together. And after she left, the emptiness was a large gritty piece of sand in my soul. I saw our ghostly footprints on the streets, felt her around every corner, looked for her beside me each morning. Yet, however much I missed her, I knew there was no turning back.
