Eden Iris Shares New Single ‘Sunshine Motel’

Los Angeles-based, New Zealand native singer and songwriter Eden Iris has just unveiled her brand new single Sunshine Motel, a stunning indie-folk gem. The first in a series of singles which Eden is releasing this year, Sunshine Motel is a relatable song about not wanting to leave a comfortable, familiar place, a message flawlessly delivered through her stunning vocals. I am a fan of the tone of Eden Iris's voice and how smooth, breathy and evocative it sounds, beautifully exuding raw, honest emotion and soul. Backing her gorgeous vocals and captivating storytelling we have lush strings seamlessly paired with intricate guitar riffs and steady drums that together create an overall warm atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone.

Speaking about the song, Eden Iris said,
The song is about not wanting to leave a comfortable, familiar place. The imagery in the lyrics came from a poem I wrote while staying at a hotel in southern California. It was scorching hot, and the place was surrounded by desert, mountains, and fields with dead grass and cacti. During the middle of the day, while most of the other guests were out exploring the town, it felt like I was the only one in the whole place. It was sort of lonely, serene, and cinematic all at the same time. I knew I wanted to write about that feeling.
