Connor Roff Shares New Single ‘Somewhere Green’
Canadian-British singer and songwriter Connor Roff shares his brand new single Somewhere Green, a captivating song inspired by our disconnection with Mother Nature.
Produced by James Turner and taken from his upcoming album, brighter than the night, Somewhere Green finds the talented artist singing about how today's corporate capitalism, colonialism and greed made us disconnected with nature, but the artist enhances the message that we belong and should reconnect with Mother Nature. This message is flawlessly delivered through his gorgeous, expressive vocals which soar effortlessly over the infectious production. Apart from his vocals - which exude so much emotion - I am particularly fond of the steady beat throughout, subtle keys, sounds of birds and a memorable chorus that together create an overall warm atomsphere perfect for those reflective moments home alone.
Speaking about his album, Connor Roff said,
So much of this album and this song was inspired by natureNot our separateness from it, but our belonging and connectedness to Mother Earth and all things around us. Society, crony capitalism and colonialism has tried to make us forget this, I don’t think intentionally, but from a wounded place. I believe it’s our work as humans to show up and reconnect with Mother Nature, starting with ourselves and how we show up daily. How we show up for each other and the world around us. Never underestimate the healing power of nature.
