SAPPHIRE Shares New Single ‘crisis’
British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist SAPPHIRE has just shared her brand new single crisis, a vibrant, dynamic pop anthem inspired by British coming-of-age series Heartstopper.
The follow up to her romantic corvette single, crisis is the second single to be taken from her upcoming test drive EP and continues to showcase SAPPHIRE's talents to deliver us infectious, dance-worthy pop bops. I am a fan of her gorgeous, passionate vocals and how they soar effortlessly over the upbeat production.
crisis evokes the palpable feelings of new love that can take you by surprise, a relatable story beautifully conveyed through her powerhouse vocals which convey a wide array of emotions, from the passionate longing during separation to the impulsive urge to deny your true feelings. It’s an expressive single that takes listeners on the rollercoaster ride of this emotional turmoil.
Apart from her vocals, I am particularly fond of the memorable driving beat seamlessly paired with bright synths, cool guitar plucks and groovy rhythms that culminate into a highly infectious and anthemic chorus perfect to sing along to. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, SAPPHIRE said,
I was watching season 1 of ‘Heartstopper’ when I had the first idea for ‘crisis’. The lyric ‘having a crisis’ was circling my brain and I couldn’t sleep that night. Luckily, I had a studio session the following day... ‘crisis’ was created so fast because it was so fresh in my mind, and I literally spent the entire day in the studio smiling and squealing with excitement about it. I really wanted this song to feel like your main character moment, the opening track to your movie…so hopefully it makes you feel that way!
