Canadian indie-folk artist Kelly-Ann shares her official debut single Let You Go, a captivating song about separation.
Taken from her forthcoming debut EP, set to arrive early 2024, Let You Go finds the talented singer-songwriter beautifully showcasing her gorgeous vocals and heartfelt storytelling abilities. Let You Go is a song about finally realising that it is best to let someone go, even though you love them deeply and that this decision will hurt. A relatable song and demonstration of self-love, Let You Go showcases Kelly-Ann’s impeccable vocals soaring through the song, exquisitely backed by intricate guitar riffs, steady percussive elements and a delicate string-quartet that culminate into a highly-addictive chorus perfect to sing along to.
The official music video was beautifully crafted by director Charles-William De Melo. Throughout, you’ll see the struggle and pain of coming to the realization that the relationship needs to come to an end, but slowly that pain turns into comfort and internal happiness.
Speaking about the song, Kelly-Ann said,
The first official song I ever wrote. This one’ll always be super special to me. Let you go is a total exposure of one’s vulnerability. It was not created in bitterness, but rather in the desire to move forward. ‘Let You Go’ is loving yourself enough to leave everything behind, without looking back.
