Beck Pocket x Jed Upjohn Share New Single ‘Step Back’

British duo Beck Pocket team up with fellow British artist Jed Upjohn to deliver Step Back, an upbeat, disco-infused electro-pop cut. 

 

Step Back is a self-released and self-produced single that finds them drawing inspiration from acts such as SG Lewis and KAYTRANADA. I am really enjoying the contrast between the bouncy and funky production with the lyrics that address a friendship on the ropes, how they've become unrecognisable to each other, questioning themselves in the process. I am really enjoying the smooth vocals and how they are seamlessly backed by a driving bassline, ethereal synth layers and groovy, danceable rhythms that together create quite an upbeat, feel-good atmosphere.
