Adanna Duru Shares New Single ‘if i was a boy’
California-raised, Nigerian artist Adanna Duru shares her brand new single if i was a boy ;), a captivating blend of afrobeats, r&b and pop elements.
Produced by Khris Riddick Tynes (Snooze by SZA) & Rob Bisel (Kill Bill by SZA)], if i was a boy ;) is the first single leading into the NAPPY HOUR II EP which is set to arrive later this year. This song beautifully showcases Adanna Duru's rich, soulful vocals and quirky/fun online persona. The song was inspired by Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy" and Ciara's "Like a Boy," where Adanna wanted to create a song about what women commonly go through in relationships. The humorous yet biting lyrics of the track describe how men let their women down and never have to answer for their bad behaviour.
Apart from her vocals, I am particularly fond of the catchy bass, groovy rhythms and infectious melodies that create an overall upbeat, feel-good atmosphere perfect for a fun weekend. Check it out below!

This song is about letting out all those feelings of being mistreated or being taken for granted by men in my life. I wanted to make a song that was super fun and spoke to feelings that all women go through in relationships (wanting to treat men the way they treat us)
