Late for the Train Share New Single ‘Bottom of the World’
Northern California folk band, Late for the Train (consisting of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists David Pascoe (guitar), Laura Benson (fiddle), and Thom Beneduci (stand-up bass), share a lovely live music video for their brand new single Bottom of the World.
Filmed live in front of a fire-scarred redwood trunk in an old growth grove in Occidental, CA, Bottom of the World is a warm and intimate piece of folk/americana that sounds quite comforting, perfect for a cold, rainy day home alone. The second in a series of live music videos, Bottom of the World takes a playful look at existential questions and celebrates the universal mystery of the human experience. This message is beautifully conveyed through David and Laura's lovely, expressive vocals which glide atop lush guitar plucks, delicate fiddle strings and stand-up bass. I am also very fond of the bursts of energy and pace that make the song stand out even more. Overall, this is such a cool live performance packed with soul and emotion which I think you will enjoy!
The location for the video (filmed in one take & directed by Chad Leto), a burnt-out but still very much alive redwood tree in a protected old-growth grove near the Pacific Ocean in Occidental, CA, is a fitting backdrop for the song’s poetic themes of mortality, resilience, and acceptance.
