PEPTALK Share New Single ‘Close Friend’

Australian band PEPTALK, made up of Jay-Lee Kwan (keys), Lara Frew (bass), and Phoebe Sinclair (lead vocals), share their new single Close Friend, a captivating pop song. 

 

Written about band member Lara's childhood crush on a girl at church and accepting she could only be a close friend. Self-produced by Lara and Phoebe (under their moniker Middleman), this unrequited love song captures the nature of flip-flopping on decisions you don’t want to make and fates you don't want to accept. This message is beautifully delivered through Phoebe Sinclair's gorgeous, passionate vocals which glide effortlessly over the upbeat production. Apart from the vocals, I am particularly fond of the intricate guitars seamlessly paired with energetic drums and cool rhythms that build up in energy during its infectious, anthemic chorus.
