Blondes Share New Single ‘Does It Rain On You?’
After the rousing success of their recent singles Love In The Afternoon, The Basement and Beautiful World, Nottingham-based indie-rockers Blondes are back with their eagerly-awaited new EP In Separation, alongside the vibrant new single Does It Rain On You?, which are out today via C3 Records.
Adding about the new EP, Blondes Alex Davison explains,
Our new EP 'In Separation' is a collection of songs written and recorded over the past two years. It's a project that explores the ways in which we become disconnected from one another, taking you on an emotional journey through separation to reconciliation. It speaks to the ways we live with and without each other. We feel it reflects more of the breadth of our songwriting than our first project, with us having matured a little both personally and musically since 'Coming of Age' and our 'Out the Neighbourhood' EP.
I am loving the energy of Does It Rain On You? with its 90s-inspired aesthetic enhanced by the gorgeous guitar lines and steady drum patterns. The vocal delivery is quite smooth and expressive, gliding effortlessly over the infectious indie-pop/rock production.
Adding about Does It Rain On You?,
This one has gone straight to the top of our setlist, we've been opening our live shows with it before it's even come out since it's such a head bopper. It started as a demo built out of some spliced up drum samples and shoegazey guitars, and with the help of Antony Genn we transformed it into a gritty, dancy, 90s-inspired banger.
This gem is accompanied by a captivating music video, directed by João Freire, which embodies the song's warmth and feel-good vibes. Check it out below!
