Smith & Thell Share New Single "We Were In Love"

Swedish Grammy-winning Folk-Pop duo Smith & Thell, comprised of Maria Jane Smith and Victor Thell, share their brand new single We Were In Love, a heartwarming love song.

Out now via Playground Music Scandinavia, We Were In Love finds the duo continuing to explore more of that warm and euphoric aesthetic they have become synonymous with since they first emerged. I am loving Victor's gorgeous, passionate vocals which are packed with raw, honest emotion, singing about a deep, lifelong love. This message is wrapped around a memorable pop-folk production that features lush guitar lines, haunting, backing vocals, steady percussive elements and subtle piano chords that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere.

Speaking about the new single, the band’s Victor Thell said,
The inspiration for the song came from the story of my (Victor) grandparents, who were married for 65 years. All of our grandparents grew up in a time when it was less common to talk about one's emotions, but that surely doesn't mean that they did not feel deeply. After my grandfather passed, I could tell by looking into my grandmother's eyes how much she missed him, so we set out to write about the feeling of having things you wish you would have said when your special someone was still with you. This song is our interpretation of her love for him. All of the words she never said.
