Hanna Ögonsten Shares New Single ‘Kick Off My Shoes’

Stockholm-based artist Hanna Ögonsten has just shared her brand new single Kick Off My Shoes, the latest single to be taken from her sophomore EP, have you seen my mind cause I've lost it, which is out now!

I am really enjoying the bright, groovy atmosphere of the song which instantly got me in a good mood. Hanna's smooth, expressive vocals glide beautifully over the infectious electro-pop production, singing about the power of letting go in the most liberating way. I am very fond of the touches of melancholia that contrast with the upbeat, synth-laden production that features killer rhythms seamlessly paired with expansive synths and her dreamy harmonies. The whole atmosphere of the song is quite uplifting and laid-back, making it perfect for a long drive during a warm summer's day or for those chill moments alone at the beach. Have a listen to this gem below!

Speaking about the song, Hanna Ögonsten said,
Growing up I listened to a lot of Ben Howard and he has a song that's called ‘Black Flies’. He says: ‘No man is an island / Of this I know / But can’t you see / Or maybe you were the ocean / When I was just a stone’. I was inspired by this metaphor and wanted to play around with it. I turned it around and came up with the concept of ‘If you were an island, I wouldn’t set my foot there’. It’s kind of goofy taken out of context but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
