laye Shares New Single ‘blue’

Montreal-born-and-raised singer and songwriter laye has just shared her brand new single blue, her first release of the year. 

 

Out now via Sony Music Canada, blue was co-written by Cici Ward (Cheat Codes, Lil Huddy, GAYLE) and finds the talented artist beautifully showcasing her rich, sultry vocals over a captivating electro-pop production. I am very fond of the contrast between the somber lyrics and the airy melodies, making her interior world sound simultaneously apocalyptic and cheery. Apart from her vocals and storytelling, I am really enjoying the soaring guitars which are seamlessly intertwined with subtle piano keys, lush strings and killer drum patterns that create an overall warm atmosphere perfect for a reflective day home alone.
