Speaking about the song, Dylan Dunlap said,
early last year i experienced a break-up that pushed me to learn how to take better care of myself both physically & mentally. something about the lack of closure served as inspiration to find it on my own and write through the pain to get to the other side. in an effort to practice exercises learned in behavioral therapy, Right expresses feelings that were vocalized to me at the time followed by feelings of mine that i didn’t know i wasn’t comfortable enough to articulate.
