Rowan Drake Shares Self-Reflective New Single ‘Elephant In The Room’

Rising singer-songwriter Rowan Drake has just shared his heartwrenching new single, Elephant In The Room, available now via Atlantic Records/Arthouse Records.

I am loving how emotionally-charged this song is, allowing for the talented artist to showcase his dynamic vocal delivery and stunning falsetto which is packed with raw emotion that instantly make us feel each and every single word he is singing. I am definitely a fan of those vocals and honest storytelling which is backed by a polished pop production that features haunting harmonies, intricate guitar lines and steady drum patterns. Elephant In The Room is a relatable song about realising one was holding on so tightly to a relationship that they knew it had run its course. This is a heartfelt, self-reflective gem with dreamy, emotional vocals and infectious melodies that create a warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone. Speaking about the song, Rowan Drake said,
‘Elephant In The Room’ represents the neglect I showed to my partner in my relationship. It’s the feeling of holding on so tightly to something you care about that it suffocates. Turning your blinders on to everything that has been lost in hopes it will just disappear. The elephant in the room is the fact that we’d reached our expiration date but I wasn't willing to admit that in my case. The song started with me playing a strange tuning on my guitar in my empty apartment and hearing the verse melody. The emotion was born and everything seemed to just fall into place afterwards. It’s been beautiful to see the song resonate in the way it has.
