Gold Spectacles Share New Single ‘How To Make A Million’

London-based collaborative multi-instrumentalist, songwriting and producing duo Gold Spectacles kick off the new year with the release of How to Make a Million, a captivating indie-pop song taken from their upcoming EP due in May.

Out now via The Woods, How to Make a Million was written, recorded and self produced in their South London studio, and finds the duo blending analog synths, interweaving guitar lines, and a whimsical mellotron that create a warm atmosphere that beautifully backs Amie's earnest lead vocals. This is one of the pair's most honest and cutting story so far, talking about the loss of Aime's father. Even though it's a song about the hollowness and numbness of grief, the song is still wrapped around a comforting production that makes it perfect for a chilled out weekend at home or out in nature. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song Amie said,
On the first sunny day of spring in 2017, my dad woke up early, got on his motorbike and headed for the coast. He didn’t come home. Nothing can prepare you for the loss of a parent. The hollowness, the emptiness, the unfinished conversations, the unexpected guilt. In my situation, it was very sudden - the news of the accident didn’t seem real. I still have a hard time believing he is really gone. I keep expecting him to turn up. Time is the only thing that can separate you from the emotion but when you stop and think about it, it’s still as raw as ever. This is definitely the hardest song we’ve written.
