Ten Words x Crimewave x Waves_On_Waves Share New Single ‘Was Never What It Was’

Time for some hypnotic electronic music. Waves_On_Waves (Hollywood), Ten Words (Milan), and Crimewave (Essex UK), come together to deliver Was Never What It Was, an addictive, melodic dark techno track that came to be following a meeting at Amsterdam Dance Event. 

 

Out now via Severe Records, Was Never What It Was is taken from Waves_On_Waves' upcoming collaborative album Cinematic Youth which is set to arrive in 2023. I am really enjoying the warm, pop vocal hooks and how they infuse the song with a touch of emotion and melancholia, feelings that are beautifully enhanced by the darker electronic production. I am particularly fond of the blend of atmospheric trance, techno and progressive house elements that gifts us with a killer pulsing beat and dreamy synths. The overall atmosphere of the song is quite dark and moody, making it perfect for a long drive at night or for those late night sets at the clubs. Check it out below!
