Dasha Shares New Single ‘Wish That You Were Here’

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Dasha has just shared her brand new single Wish That You Were Here, a melancholia-infused pop song taken from her forthcoming debut album, Dirty Blonde, set to arrive on January 27th via Quadio Records.

I am loving the tone of Dasha's voice and how heartfelt her vocal delivery is, packed with raw emotion that instantly connects the listeners to her storytelling. Wish That You Were Here is a song about all the things Dasha wished she could have said to her ex, a relatable message that is beautifully wrapped around a captivating production. Apart from her gorgeous vocals, I am particularly fond of the intricate guitar riffs, steady drum patterns and cool rhythms that together create an overall warm, melancholia-infused, atmosphere perfect for a laid-back day home alone. Speaking about the song, Dasha said,
I wrote this song last year, right after I had moved to LA, with artist/ songwriter Ben Kessler over Zoom. I came into the session wanting to write a song called ‘Wish That You Were Here’ in an ode to Pink Floyd because it’s my ex's favorite song. ‘Wish That You Were Here’ is everything I wish I could’ve said to him. I never had the nerve to admit to myself that what he did to me was wrong. I never called him out for everything he pulled on me because I was embarrassed that I’d go back if he ever called. 'I’d rather have the worst of you than nothing.' There’s something about this song that’s really special because I know so many people can unfortunately relate.
