Swedish singer-songwriter Titus Drott releases Leaving With You, his most personal single to date with a sound that reminds of Ed Sheeran’s most intimate acoustic works.
Out now via Rexius Records, Leaving With You is a soft, acoustic guitar-driven ballad about coming to terms with a dark reality, of accepting one's own death. This powerful message is flawlessly conveyed through Titus Drott's heartfelt vocal delivery which is packed with so much emotion that caught my attention from the get-go. I am also very fond of the vocal harmonies and how they are nicely backed by the acoustic guitar-based melodies and chord progressions that create an overall warm, comforting atmosphere perfect for a laid-back, introspective day home alone. Speaking about the song, Titus Drott said,
The song is written in a certain way, in an attempt at masking it as a love song. After a person has gone through years of depression, hopelessness, and suicidal thoughts, death doesn't feel particularly scary anymore.
