Sofia Lafuente Shares New Single ‘If You Care’

British-Spanish alt-pop singer and songwriter Sofia Lafuente has just shared her brand new single If You Care, a defiant electro-pop offering out now via 304 Music.

Written in Los Angeles with producer Erick Bardales, (Kehlani, Ambré), If You Care embodies Sofia’s frustration towards the music industry, how the industry has unfair expectations for artists, especially women. This is a song that shares that we should be self-confident and driven, connecting with anyone who has felt alone whilst chasing their dreams, whether that be in a career or relationship that doesn’t fulfil them. This message is beautifully conveyed through her gorgeous, evocative vocals which are backed by a memorable driving beat, lush synths and percussive elements that together create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere. A great song for a laid-back weekend or long night drives. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Sofia Lafuente said,
there’s something very empowering about the fact that when nobody expects anything from you, you have a freedom to do whatever you want. I wrote it about being a woman in the industry but I realised it can also relate to people that are in a relationship with someone who’s not fully in, and what’s helped me, regardless of whether it’s your job or romantic life, is surrounding yourself with people that empower you”.
