Toronto-based indie-pop artist Lyzzie has just shared her brand new single IJWYD (I Just Want You Dead), the latest single to be taken from her upcoming debut EP.
A very personal song to Lyzzie, IJWYD is Lyzzie's way to confront her pain and continue to pursue her journey of self-discovery and self-love. I am really enjoying her smooth vocals and how passionate and confident her vocal delivery is, soaring effortlessly over an infectious beat nicely intertwined with cool bass guitar plucks and synths that create an overall warm atmosphere with dark vibes. Speaking about the song, Lyzzie said,
A grown man fell in love with me when I was in high school. I’ve felt a lot of conflicting emotions surrounding this relationship. I’ve felt disgust and anger but also heartbreak and betrayal. The song is about what I wanted to say to him, but never did at the time. He should know what he did was wrong.
