Cosmic Crooner Shares New Single ‘Tema di Filippo’

Amsterdam-based singer and songwriter Cosmic Crooner is back with his brand new single Tema di Filippo, a meditative, cinematic spy-like song with a retro grandeur.

I am a fan of Cosmic Crooner's rich, evocative vocals and how they are nicely backed by a retro-tinged production with touches of vintage psychedelia. I am loving the sweeping strings and how they are nicely paired with cool piano keys, steady drum patterns, memorable guitar plucks and smooth melodies that create an overall cinematic, James Bond-esque atmosphere.

This gorgeous song is accompanied by an ultra-stylish black and white video inspired by the Italian film maker Michelangelo Antonioni. Directed by Cosmic Crooner himself along with Lin Bartraij, it’s a nostalgic nod to film-making of yesteryear and one that wouldn’t look out of place as a James Bond intro. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song and video, Cosmic Crooner said,

The arrangements of this song were inspired by Italian movies and their scores, We wanted to approach this video differently than my previous videos by using only one location and we wanted to create a loop with a reward at the end. One of my most transcendental videos so far. With lyrics I find it very important that everyone can interpret the song’s meaning in their own way. This was also an inspiration for the video. I like how multi interpretable the video has become.
