Alexandra John Share New Single ‘Lock Me Down’

American Pop duo Alexandra John, comprised of siblings Liza and Weston Cain, have just shared their brand new single Lock Me Down, an upbeat, retro-infused piece of electro-pop music.

I am really enjoying Liza's confident, dynamic vocal delivery and how the song has a punchy touch that instantly makes it quite memorable. The third single to be taken from their debut EP Healing, Lock Me Down is a song about how disposable modern-day dating is, about wanting to take a relationship to the next level but the other part is still unsure, not wanting to commit like they are still waiting for someone better to show up. It shows how it is important to make our feelings heard and that we shouldn't wait around forever for someone to make up their mind if they want to be with us or not. This message is beautifully conveyed through Liza's vocals which are backed by a captivating blend of electro-pop and old-school rock with pop sensibilities, featuring a punchy beat, lush synths and soaring guitars. Speaking about the song, Alexandra John said,
Lock Me Down is all about the disposable climate of modern-day dating. Especially with commitment in relationships and having the power not to settle for anything, and have that special someone choose you. Dating apps are good and bad, especially with the endless options of people and sometimes people feel overwhelmed and or scared to commit.
At the end of the day, it seems we all want what we can't have and people tend to not know what it is they really want to begin with. In the context of this song, one side knows that they want to take the relationship to the next level and the other not knowing at all. Many tend to drag out relationships this way and Lock Me Down is about giving that other person an ultimatum and acknowledging the other person isn't going to wait around forever.
