SpaceAcre Share New Single ‘Chemicals’

British duo SpaceAcre have just shared their brand new single Chemicals, a captivating blend of dreamlike dark-pop with a haunting atmosphere, out now via WTW Music.

The title track of their new EP, out today, Chemicals beautifully showcases Phoebe Little’s spine-tingling vocals and Jas Scott’s electrifying, idiosyncratic musicianship. Chemicals is a song about how there are several things that can affect our brain, a message backed by a polished production that starts off with a seductive, stripped back opening that slowly swells with intensity as the chorus nears. I am very fond of Phoebe'se evocative falsetto tone which glides effortlessly over the melancholic, yet powerful, piano keys and punchy drums that together create an overall warm, somewhat mysterious and eerie atmosphere that I really like. Accompanying the release, the duo have shared its darkly glamorous music video which you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, SpaceAcre said,
It’s about how chemicals can affect someone's brain, whether they are naturally occurring or not. It has a multi-layered meaning as we all have stuff that we’re addicted to. Often when writing, we'll be thinking about a subject, maybe something quite personal, and I'll just get Jas to rant about it for a while. I'll then note down the interesting bits and we write the lyrics from there.
