Abby Sage Shares New Single ‘Backwards Directions’

LA-based, Canadian singer and songwriter Abby Sage has just shared her brand new single Backwards Directions, the latest single to be taken from her upcoming sophomore EP, The Florist, which will arrive on October 21st via Nettwerk.

I am really enjoying Abby Sage's vocals and how effortlessly they glide over the polished indie pop production. Backwards Directions is a song about always making the same mistakes, failing to truly move forward and growing as an individual. This message is backed by intricate guitars and steady drum patterns that allow for Abby's vocals to soar.

Speaking about the song, Abby Sage said,
‘Backwards Directions’ is about constantly making the same mistakes, not moving forward as planned, and asking for forgiveness or at least a sense of understanding for wrongdoing and lack of growth.
Its accompanying music video is taut and transfixing, showing off Abby’s metaphorical expression through the pairing of her intimate sound and director Aidan Dick’s arresting visuals. The video was shot backwards, adding an artistic layer to a song that digs deep into the human psyche by asking yourself for peace in order to move forward again. Check it out below!
