I wrote it in the heat of the moment, feeling this huge weight and pressure, like I was backed into a corner and this song just came out of me. It's raw, it's real, it's actually quite sad but I truly hope, as I did, you can find some medicine in this song, albeit maybe hard to swallow. Fun fact: The song is actually a one take, meaning the main vocal and guitar performance are a live recording with the other production embellishments being layered over the top. Because of that it's full of imperfections, a gritty vocal delivery that goes off pitch to the discerning ear, and even a few sharp guitar notes…but hey, there's soul in this song, and that's what matter most to me.
