Gia Ford Shares New Single ‘A Car Crash For Two’

Gia Ford, the moniker of British singer and songwriter Molly McCormick, has just shared her brand new single A Car Crash For Two, a haunting piece of alt-pop music.

An unflinching allegory for destructive relationships that have had their brakes cut, A Car Crash For Two finds Gia’s voice invoking a haunting, introspective sound awash with waves of dream-pop reverb that leads the subtle guitar-based backing down a long and emotionally charged road. What I like the most about this song is definitely Gia Ford's hynotic and enchanting vocls which are packed with so much soul and emotion, instantly connecting us to her storytelling. The combination of her vocals with dream-like synths, intricate acoustic and electric guitar riffs and steady drum patterns creates an overall warm, somewhat haunting and cinematic atmosphere that got me hooked right from the very first listen.

This song about toxic love is accompanied by a striking music video, directed by Melanie Lehmann, which beautifully embodies the song's warmth and relatable message. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Gia Ford said,
It’s a song about toxic love - about how sometimes people get used to their car crash romances, so much so that it becomes normal and romanticised -even masochistic - to the point that they descend together into this alternate world. It’s interesting to me how fine the lines are between pain, pleasure, love and hate - and maybe it’s because they cannot exist without the threat of one another. Sonically I’m entering a totally new era - for the first time I feel I’ve arrived at a sound that truly represents me; that’s genuine reflection of all my life influences - I’m excited, I can start all over again.
