London-born French-raised future-pop artist, FLEUR ROUGE has just shared her brand new single Wasteland, a confident electro-pop song taken from her upcoming EP, What Makes You Think I Care?, due for release in 2023. 

 

What I like the most about this song is its punchy energy and how sultry and confident FLEUR's vocal delivery is, soaring effortlessly over the polished production that blends brooding, dark electronica with thudding beats and upbeat pop-inflected choruses. Wasteland finds FLEUR exploring themes of self-indulgence, objectifying gazes, emotional unavailability, sycophants and fake friends, all this backed by punchy percussive elements, lush synths and cool rhythms that create an overall warm atmosphere for her vocals to soar.
