for me the song is a kind of self-talk instructional manual for life... just telling ones self not to worry about what others think or say about you... and to just get on with the doing... being productive in the here and now and not to be trapped in your past success's or mistakes... and I guess the song is also a rejection of the mainstream... of the do-gooders... the ones who claim the moral high ground...hence the 'Sunday choir' metaphor... and the idea of not letting them steer you off your path or to steal or crush your identity... So I suppose the old maxim of 'stay being true to yourself...'
