Komanda Share New Single ‘No Longer Blue’

Komanda, the project of songwriter/producer duo Ed Zisk and Phillip Alexeey, have just shared their brand new single No Longer Blue, an upbeat electro-pop/EDM song, out now via Cheburashka Records.

What I like the most about this song is its uplifting, feel-good atmosphere that instantly got me in a good mood and ready to face the day. Contrasting with the upbeat, danceable production we have a darker lyrical content that talks about dealing with addiction, relapsing and one's insecurities hiding this part of themselves. It's a very personal song for the duo and is wrapped around a sun-soaked electronic production with lush, expansive synths, killer percussive elements, subtle piano keys, groovy rhythms and smooth, expressive vocals that create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere perfect for a carefree summer's day. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Komanda said,
Most will perceive this on the surface level as a fun summer bop, but it's covertly about relapsing and dealing with addiction to cocaine and alcohol in my mid 20's, my insecurities while hiding this part of myself from the world. The instrumentation is meant to cheekily evoke the nostalgic/invincible vibe of the 2010's while I was going through the throws. The chorus sings "want you till the sky's no longer blue" and may seem like it's referring to desire until the end of the world, but it also reflects the diminishing returns of the drugs as the years fly by.
