Jenny Kern Shares New Single ‘I Should Lose You’

Following the release of her upbeat single Feel It Again, Brooklyn-based, Canadian indie singer-songwriter Jenny Kern has just shared her brand new single I Should Lose You, the second single to be taken from her upcoming EP.

What I like the most about this song is its infectious energy and retro vibes akin to that of The 1975, Chelsea Cutler and Maggie Rogers. Produced by Carson Cody and Jenny Kern, I Should Lose You is a relatable song about the struggle with realising you need to let someone go, to rip off the band-aid and move on. This message is beautifully conveyed through Jenny Kern's gorgeous, expressive vocals which soar effortlessly over a captivating electronic production featuring soaring guitars, lush, expansive synths, a steady beat and retro vibes that make it perfect for a long summer's drive. Speaking about the song, Jenny Kern said,
This song is about falling out of love with someone and realizing you need to let them go. The relationship was failing and it became so one-sided. It’s easy to realize that you no longer have feelings for someone but it’s the intrinsic difficulty of hurting them is what makes it so hard. You can be in a relationship, feel a shift and know something isn’t right anymore but the second you say it out loud it’s in the open. You can’t take it back. The truth is, the best solution is to rip off the band aid and move on. That’s what I had to do.
