Cat Reynolds Shares New Single ‘Never Wanted To Stay’

London-based, Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Cat Reynolds has just shared his brand new single Never Wanted To Stay, an upbeat indie-pop song out now via CR01.

The latest single to be taken from Cat's upcoming debut EP, The Sad Boy Club, which is out on September 10th, Never Wanted To Stay is an upbeat piece of music that beautifully showcases Cat Reynolds's passionate vocals and heartfelt storytelling. Written and recorded by Cat in an AirB&B attic in Cork last year, this song aims to shed a light on embracing fragility and pain, especially amongst men. I am really enjoying his distinctive voice and how passionate his vocal delivery is, effortlessly capturing our attention from start to finish. I am also very fond of the lush guitar riffs that are seamlessly intertwined with memorable piano chords and steady drum patterns that create a jovial and upbeat atmosphere that contrasts with the lyrical content. Definitely one of those songs perfect to sing along to and for those moments home alone. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Cat Reynolds said,
The song sounds quite upbeat and jovial but the lyrics are not so much. This kind of mirrors how I was. I was floating through life with a smile on my face but really internally I was not having the best time. I want people to realise that sometimes the best thing to do is just let life happen. I think people will get different things out of the song and I like that.
