Bear’s Den & Maisie Peters Share New Single ‘A Good Love, Pt. 2’

Following on from the enormous praise they received for their fourth studio album Blue Hours, Bear’s Den – made up of Andrew Davie and Kevin Jones – have just shared their brand new single A Good Love Pt.2, a collaboration with fellow British artist Maisie Peters.

Taken from their soundtrack for season three of the hit Apple TV series Trying, A Good Love Pt.2 is one of the new original songs that tie in with the storyline of each episode's theme and narrative. I am particularly fond of how their vocals fit beautifully together, instantly creating a warm and intimate atmosphere that I find quite comforting and captivating. Backing their lush vocals we have intricate acoustic guitar strums that are flawlessly intertwined with lush strings and a steady beat that make the song perfect for a chill, introspective day at home. Check it out below!

Alongside the collaboration with Maisie Peters - who created the soundtrack for ‘Trying’ series two – the soundtrack, which will be available from series launch on July 22nd, will feature not one but two guest appearances from Jade Bird, a collaboration with Monica Martin and sees the band team up once again with Sally Herbert (string arrangements) and Ian Grimble (on production) to create a stunning soundtrack to the incredibly touching British series.

Speaking about the soundtrack and working with Maisie Peters, Bear’s Den said,
This whole opportunity only really came about because of Maisie so we're eternally grateful to her for that! We were asked to collaborate on her brilliant song: ‘I want you to change (because you want to change)’ for the 2nd series of Trying which was so fun to be involved in. Without that moment, writing these songs would never have happened. It made total sense to us, because of that, for Maisie to be the first person we asked to collaborate with on the song: ‘A Good Love pt 2’. Maisie is such a brilliant artist, songwriter and singer and to collaborate with her in the studio was so much fun. She made a bunch of lyrical changes that were just amazing and her voice and style is so cool and unique. It was just super inspiring to work with her. A huge honour and such a cool and funny person to boot!

Maisie added,
I had the most special magical experience making the soundtrack for season 2, so when the guys asked if I would be interested in having a small part to play in season 3 of course I said yes. I have been fans of theirs for years and as soon as I heard this song I knew I wanted to be part of it. Working with them is a dream and I think this song is a perfect blend of our universes, and the perfect way to tie up the musical world of Trying.
