Sophia Angeles Shares New Single ‘The Cost of Being Perfect’

American singer and songwriter Sophia Angeles has just shared her brand new single The Cost of Being Perfect, a heartfelt and honest pop song.

What I like the most about this song is Sophia's smooth, dulcet tone and how it infuses the song with a touch of emotion and vulnerability that I find quite captivating. The Cost of Being Perfect is Sophia Angeles's most vulnerable song to date as it draws from personal experience and brings awareness to people struggling with mental health issues, in this particular case eating disorders. It's a song that encourages the listeners to stop comparing themselves with others and to not allow society to dictacte what is beautiful or not. This message is wrapped around a polished pop production with emotive piano chords nicely paired with cool guitar riffs, punchy beat and lush electronics that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Sophia Angeles said,
This song is the most vulnerable song I've ever written and I wrote it while crying on my bathroom floor. Last year I struggled with an eating disorder and compared myself to other people constantly. I wanted to write a song to bring awareness and make people who are going through this not feel alone. With social media it's so easy to compare ourselves to other people but I want to share the message that it isn't worth it to bring yourself down just to be what society see's as beautiful.
