Canadian poet, singer and songwriter Jenny Berkel has just shared her brand new single Lavender City, the latest single to be taken from her upcoming album, These Are the Sounds Left from Leaving, set for release on May 13th via Outside Music. 

 

Jenny Berkel's rich, commanding vocals glide beautifully over the warm production, instantly drawing our attention to her relatable storytelling. Written about a summer relationship that took place in a city with little gardens everywhere, Lavender City intimately examines lies. This breakup song shares a message of being able to see clearly again and is beautifully backed by crescedoing strings that are seamlessly intertwined with insistent percussion and hopeful harmonies that create quite a warm and intimate atmosphere.
