Canadian singer and songwriter Jade Hilton has just shared her brand new single titled Not My Type, a lovely pop song with playful melodies.
Taken from her debut album unrequited, produced by Dominic “Dot” Okune and Kenny Muto, Not My Type is a song about embracing a casual relationship, even if that means dating someone strictly for their looks. I am a fan of her lovely, expressive vocals and how they ooze so much confidence, gliding effortlessly over the polished pop production. I am particularly fond of her high notes and how the song has an infectious chorus perfect to sing along to. Its playful melodies, packed with intricate guitar riffs, warm rhythms and catchy drum patterns, create the perfect soundscape for her lovely vocals and storytelling to soar, making the song quite a memorable listening experience. Although you don’t have anything in common, it’s still a lot of fun and carefree to be together. I wrote a series of songs related through the theme of unrequited love. I wanted to share my value of female empowerment through this album, so my fans know that they are not defined by their relationships. They have the power to lead and become themselves.
