Chicago-based singer and songwriter Edie Carey has just shared her brand new single The Old Me, the second single to be taken from her forthcoming album The Veil. 

 

The follow up to her gorgeous single The Chain, The Old Me finds the talented artist continuing to showcases her talents as a singer and songwriter. I am particularly fond of her voice and how evocative and emotive her vocal delivery is, gliding beautifully over the polished indie-folk/pop production. The Old Me is a song about rebirth and renewal, longing for the past while also appreciating the present. It captures the changes as a new mom; longing for life of before, while being enamored with your newborn child.
