Dear Rouge Share New Single ‘Gimme Spirit’
Vancouver alt-rock duo Dear Rouge have just shared their brand new single Gimme Spirit, the latest single to be taken from their third album Spirit, which is out now!
Gimme Spirit is an uplifting alt-rock song that shares a hopeful message which is beautifully conveyed through the passionate vocals of lead singer Danielle McTaggart. I am very fond of Danielle's voice which ooze so much confidence and passion, soaring effortlessly over the upbeat production that pairs soaring guitar riffs with lush synths and punchy drums that create an overall edgy, high-energy atmosphere. Speaking about the song, Dear Rouge said,
We wrote this song in a time of uncertainty and fear of the future. The lyric that stuck was “take me back to why we started in the first place”. We felt this sense that if we could remember the whole reason and core desire to make this record, then the heart and passion would just come. We just knew it was special; this song brings us hope, and ended up being the title track for the album.
