Texas-based husband and wife duo Beth // James have just shared their brand new single Voicemails, a heartwarming indie-folk cut.
A tribute to Beth's father who passed away, Voicemails showcases a more vulnerable and honest side to the duo as Beth pours her heart out after losing her father. Beth drew inspiration from a saved voicemail from her father and sings about loss, missing a loved one but also sharing a message of having our loved ones living through our fond memories of them. Beth saved a voicemail from her father who passed and speaking about the song, Beth said,
I think it’s the most honest song I’ve ever written and definitely the hardest one to sing. I listened to it once and then this song happened. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to have those mementos and hear your loved one’s voice when you really need it.
