Shumaq Shares New Single ‘Savannah’

Pakistani born, Florida-based Indie-pop rapper Shumaq has just shared his brand new single Savannah, a super smooth blend of bedroom/lo-fi pop and hip-hop elements. 

 

I am really enjoying the tone of his voice and how effortless his vocal delivery is, gliding beautifully over the chilled out production. The bright ’n’ fresh single contrastingly describes a darker turning point in the young artist’s life; written after a long night that turned into a rock-bottom morning, waking up outside “to a garden gnome.” Savannah showcases the emotional tug-of-war of playing the victim while also being the antagonist in a relationship, all this wrapped around an upbeat and whimsical production. I am very fond of the lush, bright synths, killer beat and tons of groove that make the song perfect for a laid-back day at home. Check it out below!
