Ocie Elliott Share New Single ‘With the Lights Down’

Canadian indie-folk duo Ocie Elliott, consisting of singer Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy, have just shared their brand new single With the Lights Down, a warm and nostalgic piece of music out now via Nettwerk Music Group.

I am a fan of their lovely, dreamy harmonies and gorgeous vocals which fit beautifully together. I am particularly fond of Jon's warm tone and how soothing it sounds, while Sierra's vocals give me ethereal, dreamy vibes. With the Lights Down is a song born out of a celebratory summer evening spent reuniting with friends and the combination of their lovely vocals and chilled out production, just makes this a great song for those relaxing days at home. I am really enjoying the intricate acoustic guitar riffs and how they are nicely joined by a steady percussion which create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere that reminds me of chill summer days. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Jon Middleton said,
’With the Lights Down’ was written after Sierra's last birthday, which takes place on June 21 - the summer solstice. It was a beautiful and warm early summer evening, and we had a beach party to celebrate. It was the first time in a while where we were seeing people outside of our core friend groups. The night was magical with music, conversation, and ocean swims. The song points to the feeling left-over from the celebration: a mixture of love, happiness and gratitude.
