Juliana Madrid Shares Debut Single ‘Madonna’

Texas based singer songwriter Juliana Madrid has just shared her official debut single Madonna, an emotionally-driven song out now via New York’s Neon Gold Records (MARINA, Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens etc).

Co-written by Juliana, Benjamin Ruttner (of The Knocks), Simon Oscroft (credits include Almost Monday, DREAMERS, The Naked & Famous) and Alex Winston, Madonna covers a coming of age tale and being stuck in a terrible relationship. This song beautifully showcases Juliana Madrid's stunning voice and how dynamic and expressive her vocal delivery is, instantly connecting us with her storytelling. Apart from her silky, honeyed vocals, I am very fond of the intricate guitar riffs that are nicely intertwined with steady drum patternts.

Madonna is an emotionally-driven song that combines alt, grunge and pop elements into a memorable and enthralling listening experience. Accompanying the release, Juliana Madrid has just shared its official music video, directed by Jax Anderson, which you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, Juliana Madrid said,
”Madonna” has an undertone of rejecting religion, but it's also about a girl that's in a terrible relationship. A significant other that keeps messing up, and despite her being over it, that person still is doing everything they can to win her back. She knows they are holding her back and she's kicking herself in the head for it, but she chooses to stay, slowly giving parts of herself away... piece by piece.
