Jelly Crystal Shares New Single ‘Happy Ending’ ft. Alice Boman
Jelly Crystal, the moniker of Swedish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Filip Johnson, has just shared his brand new single Happy Ending, a captivating indie-pop song out now via Smuggler Music.
A preview of the upcoming EP, which is scheduled for release in June, Happy Ending is a bombastic declaration of a love story that never existed, beautifully showcasing Jelly Crystal's timeless pop melodies. For this song, Jelly Crystal teamed up with fellow Swedish singer Alice Boman, whose fragile, ethereal vocals are nicely paired with Jelly Crystall's unique vocals. I am particularly fond of his dynamic vocal delivery and how he easily hits those high notes. Their vocals are nicely backed with a memorable indie-pop production with intricate guitar riffs, warm rhythms and touches of psych-rock that create quite a chill, soothing atmosphere. A love story with no happy ending...about a person that only exists in your head and a relationship coming to an end, even though you've never met her. It's a live recording from the studio in Stockholm, that has many flaws and hasn't been polished but still has a luxurious sound.
